Kelsey and Max love Maui, so it was the perfect place for an intimate beach wedding. They were able to visit about 7 months before their special day and set up appointments with different coordinators during their time here. Kelsey had planned the meetings to take place back-to-back at three beaches within the Kapalua area. I was set to go last and was admittedly a little nervous, but Kelsey was so sweet. We had fun discussing their wedding and related to both being moms of toddler boys. Not being able to meet most of my couples in person until they come for their wedding, it was really great being able to spend some time with her, Max, their cute son Miller, and Max’s aunt and uncle, who are longtime Maui visitors and would be the only wedding guests. Five days later, Kelsey called with the good news that she wanted Maile Maui Weddings as her coordination company and me as her wedding coordinator!
We ended up changing locations to Launiupoko Beach Park because they wanted a calmer beach for Miller to play after family photos. Kelsey decided to do a mini trash the dress in the little natural pool that is there, enclosed by the lava rock wall. Plus, there was a monk seal lounging on the beach the whole time, which is a good omen if we’ve ever seen one!
Max is a car guy. Cars are his job and his passion, so he requested the awesome grand exit photo at the end. Don’t miss it!
